14 years after it was actually written, The Wedding Ringer finally makes it to screen. Was it worth it? Well, no, but…
Had it been released all those years ago the story might be different; wouldn’t it be crazy if you constructed a fake identity at a wedding? Or if you needed oddball groomsmen (who may or may not look like “the cast of The Goonies grew up and became rapists”)? What if Kevin Hart was there?
Add Gad’s best Kevin-James-in-Hitch impression and the occasional high point is diluted. Really, it’s more a renewal of vows than a whole new wedding
Not much love but a whole lot of Hart.
