Facebook Twitter Pinterest WhatsApp EmailRooster Teeth, the production company behind cult web series Red vs. Blue, have finally made their first feature film after one of the most successful crowdfunding campaigns ever. Their fans will be happy to know that the $2.4 million was well spent. Lazer Team is a slick-looking sci-fi comedy, with some impressive visual effects that look just naff enough to give the whole thing a nice retro vibe. Less impressive are the writing and acting. The frat-boy humour wears somewhat thin by the time the credits roll, and a few cast members look decidedly uncomfortable in front of the camera. It’s rough around the edges, but there’s a lot to enjoy in Lazer Team – it’s harmless, goofy fun, and proof that Rooster Teeth is a studio with real talent. RATING: 3/5 INFORMATION CAST: Burnie Burns, Gavin Free, Michael Jones, Colton Dunn, Alexandria DeBerry, Alan Ritchson DIRECTOR: Matt Hullum WRITERS: Burnie Burns, Chris Demarais, Josh Flanagan, Matt Hullum SYNOPSIS: Four losers are thrust into the position of saving the world when they stumble upon a UFO crash site and become genetically equipped to the battle suit on board.
