“Indulge your sweet tooth. You’ll need dentures soon anyway”.

In How to Age Gracefully, skilful artifice and spontaneity collide to create something beautifully human.

It is a short, sweet film in which individuals offer words of wisdom to their younger counterparts. Look a little deeper and another theme becomes apparent; how ‘growing up’ never ends.

Orchestrated against a plain background, using simple text, the film allows us to focus on people’s’ idiosyncrasies. The participants offer diversity, humour and stark change over time.

Most impressively, Norton’s editing and nimble direction inject energy without diluting the organic nature of this short film.
