Facebook Twitter Pinterest WhatsApp EmailLife has a balance and if you break this equilibrium, bad things happen. In this case, the result is Hot Tub Time Machine 2. In the first outing, the balance between puerile humour and nostalgia was just right. Now, for this latest escapade, all that remains is the banal. Rob Corddry and the cast are not given any material outside of light homophobia, racism and dick jokes. In fact, the past is all the present sequel can focus upon. The constant reverence to the first film incapacitates the franchise as the jokes turn stale and the light titters fade out. Just because you can, it does not mean that you should. Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is an unfunny and wholly unnecessary sequel.
