Based on the short story by fellow graduate Maria Hummer, Ben Aston’s visually stunning graduation film, He Took His Skin Off For Me, uncomfortably explores the sticky issues behind mutual sacrifice, and the inevitable alienation of one man’s total exposure.

Aston, in collaboration with Colin Arthur, make full and impressive use of the film’s undying commitment to the textured authenticity of practical FX, placing Sebastian Armesto’s unanswered rendition of “him” firmly within the sinister cleavage of Mori’s uncanny valley.
