Facebook Twitter Pinterest WhatsApp EmailBlending the clichéd with the new, How To Be Single is a surprise but not a revelation. Mann and Wilson each do what they do best, both providing great physical comedy as well as more heartfelt moments. Johnson is perfectly cast as Alice and her character’s experiences echo that of many young people. Though the film is a comedy first, it has an earnest, feminist message. It is the film’s commitment to this message that is the most surprising and rewarding thing about it. Despite all the corn, it is definitely a step in the right direction. A confident, solid, and delightful film. Wrapped as a romcom, How To Be Single is just that little bit more.
